Music has been the central theme of Roopak’s life and upbringing and he continues a family tradition of musicians and artists that can be traced back to 19th century India. After having studied classical Indian music from a young age, he honed his abilities in Western pop as a teenager and later solidified his vocal training at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
With appearances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and other major world venues, Roopak is a seasoned, consummate performer. His voice and compositions are regularly featured on NBC’s “The Sing-Off”, Fox International, and National Geographic Channels. Most recently, Roopak performed the opening number to ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” alongside country music star Hank Williams Jr. for the 2011-2012 season.
In the studio, Roopak brings a depth of knowledge and a cutting edge approach to recording and producing vocals. His technical contribution and know-how are helping to bring a fresh new sound to the project.
Roopak now brings his polished NYC vibe and soulful voice across the country to add something a little exotic to MO5AIC.
